Features

What is Auto Meme Posting and how do I enable it?

Auto Meme Posting lets your server automatically receive random meme videos in a channel of your choice. It helps keep things fun and lively — no commands needed once it's set up!

Use the /automeme enable command to get started. Here's what you can configure:

  • Channel: The text channel where memes will be posted.
  • Interval: How often memes are posted.
    Format: 1h, 30m, 2d, etc.
Allowed: 10 minutes to 2 weeks
  • Diversity: Prevents memes from repeating for a set number of days.
Allowed: 0 (repeats allowed) to 5 days
  • Custom Responses: Enables special responses for certain memes
  • Reaction Emoji: Optionally add an emoji reaction to each meme.
Need to make changes? You can always adjust settings using /automeme edit or stop the feature entirely with /automeme disable.

Note: The bot needs permission to send messages, attach files, and optionally add reactions and view message history in the selected channel.

How do unlockable meme types work?

Some memes are categorized by special types (e.g., fire, minecraft, skull). These are randomly unlocked when using /meme—keep using the command to discover them all!

Once unlocked, you can force these types with /meme force:[type] (e.g., /meme force:fire).

Note: Forcing requires voting for access.

Can I suggest memes?

Absolutely! Use /memesuggest to submit your memes. All suggestions are reviewed before being added to ensure quality.

How do I report a meme?

To report a meme:

  • Right-click (or long-press on mobile) the meme message
  • Select Report Meme from the Apps menu
You can report memes for specific categories or special responses. Abuse of this feature may result in being blacklisted from using the bot.

Where does Niko get its memes?

Niko's meme library is carefully curated - we don't automatically pull content from external platforms like Twitter, Reddit, or Instagram. Every meme is manually reviewed before being added to ensure quality.

While some memes may contain strong language or edgy humor, you'll never find:

  • Hate speech or discrimination
  • Personal attacks or harassment
  • Extremely offensive/graphic content
It's all about fun - not harm. Found something questionable? Use the Report Meme feature!

What is Chat Revive and how does it work?

Chat Revive is a fully automated feature that pings a chosen role when a channel goes quiet, helping keep your server active. It's highly configurable using the /chatrevive enable command and includes the following options:

  • Channel: The one channel per server to monitor for inactivity.
  • Ping Role: The role to notify when the revive message is sent (must not be @everyone).
  • Inactivity Threshold: How long (in minutes) a channel must stay inactive before triggering a ping.
    Allowed: 1 to 1440 minutes (1 day)
  • Ping Cooldown: The time (in minutes) the bot will wait before sending another ping after one is triggered.
Allowed: 30 to 2880 minutes (2 days) — must be equal to or higher than the inactivity threshold
  • Minimum Messages: The number of messages required to reset the inactivity timer.
    Allowed: 1 to 200 messages
Once enabled, the system works using two smart timer states:

Inactivity-Based Mode: When the minimum message count is hit, the inactivity timer resets. As long as users keep chatting, the revive ping stays delayed.

Cooldown-Based Mode: After a ping is sent, the bot enters cooldown. If activity returns during cooldown and the time left is still longer than the inactivity threshold, the ping is delayed further. If cooldown drops below the threshold and enough messages come in, it switches back to inactivity-based mode.

The system supports 50+ unique ping messages to keep things fresh and avoid sounding robotic. Just set it up and let it run — the system handles everything from timing to tracking messages and resets.
Note: This feature is only available on a few hand-picked servers right now. If you'd like to get access, join the Support Server and message duderinooo privately.

Niko isn't responding

Still stuck? Hop into our support server for help.

Auto Meme not working

Make sure the channel still exists and that Niko has these required permissions:

  • View Channel
  • Send Messages
  • Attach Files

If reactions are enabled, Niko will also need:

  • Read Message History
  • Add Reactions
You can reconfigure with /automeme enable.

Why can't I force a meme type?

You might see errors if:

  • You haven't unlocked the type yet (keep using /meme randomly).
  • You haven't voted in the last 48 hours (required for forcing).
  • The type doesn't exist (try forcing an invalid type to see your unlocked list).
Note: Vote perks expire after 48 hours—renew them by voting again!

Why was I blacklisted?

Blacklists are rare but may apply for:

  • Abusing features (e.g., false meme reports).
  • Violating Discord's Terms of Service.
  • Any other reason at the owner's discretion.
Blacklists are typically permanent and non-appealable unless explicitly lifted by the owner.
